The site of the Cesar Chavez Park was known in 1856 as the City Plaza. It covers a total area of 2.2 acres and was named after Cesar Chavez, who fought for the farm workers in California. It hosts various times in a year food shows, arts and crafts fairs, cultural festivals and live music. It features an open-air-theater, water fountains and the official city Christmas tree during Yuletide season.
