The Chattanooga History Center was created through 25 years of evolution and began to formally exist in 1978 through the efforts of the common folks in the conservation of the artifacts of the city. It was originally named as the Chattanooga Regional History Museum and formerly situated in the previous Missionary Ridge Elementary School. It will relocate to the Aquarium Plaza in the fall 2013, enlisting the famous firms of the Ralph Appelbaum Associates in the design of the museum building.
