About General Jackson

The General Jackson is a showboat that was named after another riverboat that was built in 1817 which got its name from Andrew Jackson. The currently existing modern boat was constructed by Jeffboat and was launched in 1985. Its original captains were Captain E.A. Poe and Captain William Howell. The General Jackson riverboat can accommodate up to 1,200 passengers and 157 crew members.
