The Independence Seaport Museum was established in 1961 by J. Welles Henderson and was initially named as the Philadelphia Maritime Museum. The museum is devoted to the Delaware Valley, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Maritime history. Its location is along the Delaware River in the Pennís Landing Complex. The museum has dozens of maritime exhibits that include the USS Becuna and USS Olympia.
