The Merchants House Museum was previously named as the Old Merchantís House and was also known as the Seabury Tredwell House. It was originally constructed in 1832 for Joseph Brewster. Seabury Tredwell, a wealthy merchant bought it to Brewster in $18,000. Three years after the death of Seaburyís daughter in 1933, it became open to the public as a museum. The museum presents events, exhibits, lectures, presentations and performances.
