About Mingei International Museum

It was established in 1974 and was publicly opened in 1978. The museum is a public institution that operates as nonprofit. The origin of its name, Mingei, was given by the Japanese scholar, Dr. Soetsu Yanagi, which means “art of the people”. The museum is dedicated to the collection and conservation of crafts, designs, and folk arts.
