The NYC Fire Museum first opened its museum in Long Island City in 1934 and was originally known as the Fire College Museum. Now, the museum building is situated in the former quarters of New York Fire Department Engine 30. The museum has a great resource of the history of firefighting and the Fire Department of New York City with its artifacts of more than 10,000.
