The Art Institute of Chicago lies in a million square foot area in Grant Park, making it the second largest art museum in the USA. Its permanent collection includes Impressionist and Post Impressionist artworks. The museum also has a collection of contemporary art, modern art, American Art, Asian Art, European and American decorative art and the Old Masters. The museum is also affiliated with an education institution which is the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
This place is a true joy. Coming here for the first time, viewing all the exhibits and participating in the events was one of the most enjoyable days of my entire life. You will get lost in here, and without a doubt, never want to get out.
Still My Favorite
Having gown up in Chicago in Chicago, I've spent a lot of time at the Art Institute. It's always the first place I go when I come back to the city, and it's always the first place I take people who have come to Chicago for the first time. With the addition of the modern wing, the Art Institute is even bigger these days, which means that in addition to all the classic works that people have always flocked to the Art Institute for, there is also a whole lot more to look at it. Definitely check it out if you're in the area.
Took my family here last month. They had an amazing time and learned a lot. Definitely will visit again.
