About The Athenaeum of Philadelphia

The Athenaeum of Philadelphia is a library of special collections which was established in 1814. Its building was architecturally designed by John Notman in 1845. It was in 1976 when it was designated as a National Historic Landmark. It currently operates as a museum and displayed with decorative and American Fine Arts coming from the early 19th century. It is open to the public with free admission.
