The Hermitage is a historical museum and plantation situated ten miles eastern downtown of Nashville in Davidson County. It opened in 1889 as a museum and is the fourth most frequented presidential residence in the USA, receiving over 250,000 visitors every year. The Hermitage was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1960. It was also featured as one of the location settings in the 1955 Disney Film, Davy Crockett, King of the Wild Frontier.
