About The Morgan Library & Museum

The Morgan Library & Museum was established in 1906 and was designed by Charles McKim. The museum and research library was built as a private library J P Morgan. His son, John Pierpont Morgan Jr. made it a public institution in 1924. It became a New York City Landmark in 1966.
