Called the Queen City, Charlotte is the largest city in North Carolina and is second only to New York, NY as a center of financial assets and activity. Although that may make Charlotte seem formal or uptight, the city is also home to the NASCAR Hall of Fame, the U.S. National Whitewater Center (a run of man-made rapids open to the public year-round), the Billy Graham Library and the Carolinas Aviation Museum. The city also recently completed the urban section of the Little Sugar Creek Greenway, inspired by San Antonio’s River Walk, which will consist of 20 miles of trails and paved walkways from Downtown Charlotte to the South Carolina state line when completed. Along with NASCAR and drag racing, Charlotte is also home to the NFL Panthers and NBA Bobcats.
