Clearwater

A scenic beachfront location, Clearwater was actually named for its abundance of freshwater springs that are located in the bluffs surrounding the coastal city. A wintertime tourist destination almost from the beginning, Clearwater is home to several beach resorts and charter fishing companies for visitors who want to take advantage of the beach. Although most activities are centered on the marina, like scuba diving, snorkeling, and other watersports, Clearwater hosts a number of festivals each year, including a jazz festival and international film festival. The Foster Grant Ironman World Championship also calls the city home.
