Nestled at the entrance the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Gatlinburg is a mountain resort town with a variety of rustic shops and tourist curiosities. Music theaters featuring family shows, like the Sweet Fanny Adams Theater, cater to all ages, and the Hollywood Stars Cars Museum is popular with the generation that remembers the General Lee, Herbie, and Andy’s Mayberry squad car. The Gatlinburg Space Needle offers great views of the surrounding countryside and Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, which houses exhibits featuring everything from pirates to the Titanic and even Mars. Gatlinburg is also a popular location for destination weddings, featuring over 20 wedding chapels in the town and its outskirts.
