Maui

The second largest of Hawaii’s islands, Maui is home to geological formations and climates rarely seen elsewhere on Earth. Comprised of land formed between to giant (and thankfully dormant) volcanoes, Maui is a lush, rain forested beach destination year-round. During the coldest months of the year, it is also considered one of the best whale-watching locations in the U.S. Traveling the Hana Highway, with its views of black-sand beaches and numerous waterfalls, is one of the best ways to see the island. Surfing and windsurfing are popular sports, and many companies are set up to teach visitors the ins and outs of these sports. Lahaina serves as an entertainment and shopping district for the island.
