Palm Springs

Located about an hour’s drive from Los Angeles, Palm Springs is nestled in Coachella Valley, a desert resort oasis with a close proximity to some of southern California’s largest cities. The city earned its reputation as a health tourism destination because of its dry climate, and today many attractions still focus on outdoor activities, like hiking, horseback riding, swimming and biking in the surrounding mountainous desert. The Palm Springs International Film Festival brings many visitors, including Hollywood celebrities, and the weekly VillageFest is a welcome infusion of local arts and crafts. Palm Springs also has a number of museums and cultural centers dedicated to the preservation of the area’s Native American history. The city is also home to an impressive display of public art.
