Phoenix

Situated in the desert just south of the Grand Canyon and the southwest's Golden Circle of national parks, Phoenix is home to a distinctly Native American- and Hispanic-influenced culture. Museums of Native American culture and artifacts are numerous, and many performing arts venues are located throughout the city. College football fans are in luck, since the city hosts a major BCS game every year (the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl), and the NBA, NFL and MLB all have franchises there, in addition to a major NASCAR speedway. A variety of water parks to combat the hot summer sun cater to families and the unique Hole-in-the-Rock formation is popular with hikers and outdoor enthusiasts.
