Virginia Beach

Known for its beautiful oceanfront, Virginia Beach is a resort city, featuring hundreds of hotels and restaurants and miles of beaches. Bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay, Virginia Beach is a popular family vacation location for most of the year. The Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center located near the oceanfront is home to a unique 70,000-gallon sea turtle aquarium, and the Adam Thoroughgood House is one of the oldest surviving colonial homes in the state. The city is also home to a variety of interesting attractions like the Edgar Cayce Hospital for Research and Enlightenment, where visitors can view his private library of books on psychic phenomena. The city’s annual Neptune Festival, which celebrates its Norwegian heritage, draws over 500,000 people annually.
